  • All bin store doors are manufactured in accordance with BS 8300-2:2018 and Approved Document Part M, ensuring inclusive access and regulatory compliance for waste storage areas in residential blocks, housing schemes, and commercial buildings.

Fabrication processes follow BS EN ISO 15614-13:2023 and BS EN ISO 9606-1:2017, with full quality assurance records and inspection documentation supplied as part of the Operations & Maintenance manual for bin store installations. Final working drawings are provided for specifier review and approval before bin store door production begins.

  • Our bin store doors are constructed entirely from high-tensile cold-rolled seamless steel sections, offering superior strength and resilience against vandalism and repeated heavy use. We do not use aluminium, plastic, or folded sheet materials at any stage of production.

    • Main framework is fabricated from 100 × 50 × 2mm mild steel box sections, fully welded and ground to a smooth finish. This robust construction withstands the demands of daily waste management in residential blocks and communal areas.

    • Louvre and panel infills use 2mm European rolled steel modular sections, providing structural integrity and refined appearance whilst allowing ventilation and odour management in bin stores.

    • Glazing beads (where specified) are formed from 20 × 20mm steel hollow sections, fixed internally with tamper-resistant stainless steel screws or rivets to prevent removal or tampering.

    • Solid infill panels are made from 3mm Zintec-coated steel, internally secured using fabricated box cassettes and stainless steel security fixings to resist forced entry and vandalism.

  • Each component of bin store doors is shot-blasted, zinc primed, polyester powder sealed and top coated in a high-quality polyester powder finish. This multi-stage corrosion protection is essential for bin store doors exposed to harsh waste management environments, moisture, and chemical exposure. Our standard offering includes any RAL Classic colour, with other options available on request to match residential or commercial building aesthetics.

  • All bin store doors are fitted with full-length stainless steel continuous hinges with a 12mm knuckle and double staggered fixing configuration. • We install LCN 4111 heavy-duty surface-mounted closers on bin store doors, featuring anti-vandal covers and compliant with accessibility standards for all building occupants:

    • Opening force not exceeding 30N from 0° to 30°, and 22.5N from 30° to 60°.

    • Closers are installed to a minimum 100mm frame head to allow future upgrades to automated operation where required.

  • Each bin store door includes the following specification:

    • Offset D handle (solid stainless steel, 225mm long) mounted at 1000mm above finished floor level for easy operation in waste storage areas

    • Grade 304 DP1 stainless steel kick plates, fitted internally and externally for vandalism resistance

    • Push plates and anti-vandal security fixings throughout to prevent component removal

    • Components are compliant with BS 8300 (2009) for inclusive design and accessibility

  • All bin store doors are fitted with twin or triple Assa Abloy/Securitron magnetic locks, side-fixed and fully concealed. These locks are integrated with centralised access systems and controlled via secure fob entry—removing the need for mechanical locking components that could be tampered with or removed in waste storage areas.

Other locking options including keypads, mechanical deadlocks, and fire brigade emergency locks are available on request. Internal beading and fixings prevent tampering in bin store doors, whilst concealed security elements maintain a clean and durable finish that resists vandalism and repeated use.

  • Where specified for bin store doors, glazed panels are installed using 3mm glazing tape and quality silicone, secured with steel beading. Laminated or polycarbonate glazing is available depending on the waste storage application.

Bin store doors are commonly manufactured with custom louvre-panel designs, allowing generous airflow and odour management while maintaining structural strength and deterring vandalism and misuse.

Louvre configurations range from punched-slot panels to fully louvred designs, engineered to balance ventilation requirements, pest prevention (anti-insect mesh available), and security for communal waste areas in residential blocks and commercial buildings.

  • Bin store door frames are securely fixed into place using M8 metal wall anchors at 600mm intervals (max). All joints are fully welded and ground smooth. Fixings are fully concealed to ensure tamper resistance and prevent component removal in high-traffic waste storage areas. This secure installation method prevents unauthorised access and vandalism of bin store doors.

  • Bin store door customisation options:

    • Choice of RAL colours and finishes to match residential or commercial building aesthetics

    • Glazed panel upgrades for visual monitoring of waste storage areas

    • Louvre-panel designs for high-ventilation zones and odour control in bin stores
